Fenix 7s. Firmware 15.74. Wrist gesture deactivation not working since update.

Using Fenix7S solar. since update to firmware 15.74, the deactivation of the wrist gesture function (under screen options) is not working, hence watch face showing the seconds hand and complications every time that I move the wrist. This is of course increasing battery usage. I hope that this is corrected soon.

any hints for a potential work-around while the firmware is corrected?

I am sorry you have the issue. I had no luck replicating your issue. Given that your post is 7-8 days old at this point, I would expect other customers worldwide to also report the same issue after v15…

I am sorry you have the issue. I had no luck replicating your issue. Given that your post is 7-8 days old at this point, I would expect other customers worldwide to also report the same issue after v15.74/v15.76 but I am not seeing any other reports in our forums or through Product Support. You issue might resolve for you.

Please try the following:

Soft reset - hold down your top left button until your watch shuts off then let go of the button.

Test your watch. If the issue continues, proceed to the next reset.

Reset to Defaults - Reset your watch through your System > Reset menu.

If your issue continues, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region.

All resets above tried. No improvement. The issue remains. Despite setting the wrist gesture to off in all modes, any watch face that I test will show the seconds hand. That behaviour was not at all any previous firmware (latest w/o this buggy behaviour was 14.68 as far as I can say).

The issue has clearly started with firmware 15.74. It is also the same with 15.76

To avoid higher battery drop, I have to disconnect completely in all my watch faces the seconds hand and any complications linked to full power mode. Very annoying, since then I cannot visualise them when pressing the light button to set the watch to high power for my defined number of seconds.

I even shared a video.

This is something not all the users will notice since it depends on whatchface you are using, what the wrist gesture activates are the elements of the watchface but not the backlight. Please see my post and watch the video I shared.

I found a previous thread related to the Epix describing the same behaviour issue some months ago. It looks as a recurrent topic

Hopefully Garmin will want to look into this in a general manner
