Fenix 7x Sapphire Pro too fragile? Easily Scratched

That looks like the bezel is scratched, not the sapphire lens. What does your watch say on the back? Is it titanium?

I've had an epix (Gen 2) sapphire/titanium since January 2022. I need a magnifying glass to see any marks on the bezel. Even then, they are barely noticeable. Perhaps because it hides the marks due to the black bezel?

I'm a little surprised that Garmin Support did not suggest this link.

The black ones are usually DLC coated, which makes then more scratch resistant. Bare titanium, like in the original post, is comparably soft and easier to scratch. Titanium is used because it is very light, but unfortunately is softer and therefore easier to scratch that e.g. stainless steel. 

Interesting. I always thought titanium was more scratch resistant than stainless steel. Depending on the source, claims go either way. The DLC and titanium combo works great for me!

Steel is stronger and harder than titanium per weight, steel is nearly twice as strong as titanium. Where weight or luxury factor is paramount they use titanium, where strength is paramount they use steel

As said, "Titanium is very durable, but it is softer than stainless steel", so if you bump it against something (f.ex. door nobs, car doors, even tile walls if you go a bit too close and it can happen even without you really notice it) sharp pieces, sand and so on can hit so deep that it's titanium that gets the hit, then the DLC is like paint, it has no chance when base metal gives up. "Scratch resistant" do not mean that it would not get scratches.

Actually when looking at strength to weight, titanium is stronger but I completely agree that in terms on pure strength, steel has the advantage, However, titanium is much more resistant to corrosion which I am assuming is why they went with titanium. That and weight.
