I received my fenix 7x ss yesterday. Under the Backup and restore option, the watch shows when it last did a backup, but under "Device Backups", it tells me that there are no backups and that I should activate automatic backups. Any ideas what is going on? How does this work for others?
Give it another day or two. You should see the backup then as long as you have it set for automatic. I have seen other reports when it was in the Beta phase and it always cleared up so you should be good…

Manual backups will not show in GCM immediately and can take some hours.

My manual backups are available immediately.
If you select the backup, it should show you the time as well.
