Battery life check - does this seem about right?

With reading about some folks getting 7 days between charges with Fenix 7s, I just wanted to check that my experience is reasonable with my use pattern.

I get about 4 days with 7s SS (recharging at about 20% left). I have quite a few notifications from message apps (text, Slack, Teams, etc) all day long. I do about 1 hour of GPS walking each day and maybe one hour GSP bike ride during the 4 days between charges - so, about 96 hours with about 5 hours of GPS activities. Backlight is set for 50% on gesture, PulseOX off, stock watch face, .

I was hoping for more and figured the quoted 11 days was a big stretch, but I notice more folks indicating 7ish days with GPS activities. Maybe I am doing something wrong. My VA4 was supposed to get up to 8 days and I'd get 2-3.

Check under sensor and accesories that auto detection is set to off. This makes a big difference.

Backlight is potentially a battery blowtorch, especially at 100% intensity.

Even at 50%, if you have a bunch of alerts coming in, whether from messaging apps, or turn/interval alerts while exercising, your backlight can be on for a lot longer than you might think. And in daylight, you may not realize it is on.

I would suggest turning down the intensity, shortening the duration, using After Sunset.

I have found myself turning off watch notifications for a number of messaging apps - not so much for the backlight savings, as for avoiding the constant disruption/distraction. YMMV.

I never use more that 5% if it's bright enough that I won't notice a 5% backlight it's bright enough the read the watch with the environment light.

Thanks. I will lower my backlight settings and see how much that help.
