Fenix 7 standard - touchscreen bug

Hi, i own a Fenix 7 standard with firmware version 14.68 and a standard watchface.
In the last few days I have a problem with the touchscreen.
In completely random way, it stops working and responding to the touch.
Only the physical buttons work.
Deactivating and reactivating the touch, it comes back to work properly for a random time.
It can be one hour, two days or 10 minutes.
Is this a known bug?

Hi,

I think that this is software bug. I have also standard Fenix 7 and touch problem occurs around some time before my sleep schedule is configured. Also wrist gesture is not working for backlight when this bug occurs. Problem is solved for a moment when I change touch setting, but after my watch is not used for a minute, bug occurs again. Bug is somehow solved after next day in the morning. Bug started after I restored my watch from backup recently because I had another bug with Garmin Express and flushing my settings regarding glances. I am really tired of Garmin.

It's a shame that Garmin doesn't find solutions to these problems, and that they don't look for them either. For me, exchanging for a reconditioned watch is not a solution, since apart from getting a watch with less life expectancy, I´ll run the risk of having the screen problem again. It is an expensive watch; Garmin should find a solution or exchange for brand new watches, under warranty.

I've been having the same problem for a while now, has anyone tried to factory reset the watch WITHOUT restoring the backup?

I did a whole series of tests and came to the conclusion that may seem absurd! To eliminate the problem of the touchscreen that sometimes falls asleep.... Just remove the Garmin Weather app from your quick views and everything magically works again.

Another crazy thing about our watches...

Hi, My problem stopped occurring when I modified sleep schedule. For now I didn't saw that this problem reoccur again, but if it would then I will try your solution.

has been a problem from day one on this watch all version of firmware never solved.

have to disable and re enable the touch then it work,

Unfortunately, I don't think there are a few of us who have this problem.

Unfortunately I thought I had solved it, but no.The problem appears randomly, I have done everything. Can I ask what phones you have? I have a Pocophone F3.
