How to check the warranty period by serial number

It used to be, as fas as I know (in Europe), that the original warranty transferred to a next owner as long as they had proof of purchase from the original first owner, and the previous owner had removed the device from their Garmin account. I don't think that has changed, but correct me if I am wrong.

I have no idea. It doesn't work that way in the United States but since I am here, I cannot speak for the rest of the world. In general, warranties don't transfer in my experiences but each country is able to do their own thing and in those instances, companies that sell their products in those regions will go by the required standards for each country.

Interesting chat with online support - the answer is NO, CAN'T HELP  and COIULDN'T CARE LESS. Shame because the products are good and let down by poor support.

Explain further. Did you buy the watch new? Did you buy it on the grey market or from an authorised dealer? How long have you owned it for? What are the issues you're experiencing?

It was a gift last week.  No idea when purchased or where. Wanted to check warranty status. 

Explained all this to Emily in online chat and she said Garmin can't help and wanted the end the chat.

I see. Yes the warranty normally only applies to the original owner, but you've got a good chance of being able to claim on it if you can get your hands on the receipt and the watch was purchased through an authorised seller 

Thanks, as I said.. I don't need or want to claim on it.  I have never had problem with my Garmin watches over the years.  Just wanted to check when it was sold so I can date it.
