fenix 7s pro can not pair with IPhone

My new Fenix 7s pro cannot pair to my iphone. When I check the IPhone's bluetooth, it cannot find the watch. But I do have an older smart watch(fenix 5s) which can connect to my IPhone successfully.
I've tried following, but none of them can solve this connection issue:
1. restart watch, restart IPhone
2. Upgrade the watch's firmware to latest version 14.36
3. reset the watch software to factory mode.

Any suggestion or advices?

Thanks a lot.

  • I am sorry you have the issue. Researching the watch you own, it is called the "Dual Power" version that is exclusive only to Japan. There is no PulseOX sensor on your watch like there is on the same watch for the rest of the world when bought outside of Japan.

In your Garmin Connect Mobile APP, no matter where you live in the world, you must set your Connect Mobile APP location to "Japan" for your location. You will then be able to pair your watch successfully.

This Support Center article will walk you through changing your settings in the Connect Mobile APP.

My Device is Not Listed in the Garmin Connect App

  • I own a Japanese Fenix 7 Pro Dual Power, and it has a feature called "Blood Ox", which seems to do the same thing as the "PulseOx" described on the Garmin website. Could you calrify?

I am quite baffled by Garmins inability to clearly state the differences between the APAC and ROW watches (I started a thread on it like amonth ago), it seems like we slowly need to find out ourselves:

    So far I found:

    - Watch is called "Dual Power" in Japan (or APAC?) instead of "Solar".

    - BloodOx/PulseOx (?) According to the web, the difference between these terms is, that blood ox needs actual blood, which my watch clearly does not. So it seems that my watch DOES have "PulseOx", it is just called differently. Admittedly, it is not the "S" version, as OPs watch

    - Precipitation Overlay does not exist here in Japan

    - It looks like all the transit card that the Fenix7Pro supports in ROW are not available on my watch. Only the local "Suica" transit card (I tried changing my Garmin account's country - I do not get any other choices. Not that I'd need them. Just saying.)

You will need to reach out to Japanese Product Support for more information. You are correct, the information is not found anywhere within our Support Center or otherwise.

Thank you for listing out what you have learned. The unique SE Asia/APAC region devices, including your watch due to Japan's regulations, are not common knowledge so I apologize how little I know about the devices. The SE Asia region is managed by our Taiwan HQ which covers the entire SE Asia region. For all other regions worldwide, we do not have access to the information.
