In Multisport, it possible to have all individual runs saved as one overall run.

Hello, I was wondering if it's possible, on the Fenix 7, to repeatedly switch between the run and walk activities, but have the run activity saved as one big run comprising all the individual run segments.
I'm planning on a tru-hike where I want to run sections of it, so I expect that it might be something like: run 1 hour+ walk 1 hour+ run 1 hour+ walk 1 hour.
Now in multi-sport mode, as I understand it, this would be saved as: two individual runs and two individual walks.
But what I want is the have all the runs saved as one big run and all the walks saved as one big walk.
Is this possible?

  • Not without tools to split and combne FIT files. A multisport is basically a collection of individual activities plus an overall summary. You would have to split the multisport file into all individual files, and to combine the ones you want to string together. Or copy the multisport activity and delete the segments that you don't need for each one

I am not sure, so others please add info and correct me, but I think it is something called FIT File repair tool that can do things like this.

  • For what you want to accomplish Garmin's Multisport activity isn't what you want to use. If you sync your activities to Strava on Android there is a free app called Sport Track Merger (only works with Strava for now according to dev) that you can very easily combines all your Run and Walk activities into one. You record your Run and Walk individually and let Sport Track Merger worry about combining them later. I discovered this app when looking for a way to merge my 8-day West Highland Way walk that totaled 177km with total elevation gain of almost 6000m.
