Since I have been bitten by this before with another device: is there a difference between the APAC versions and ROW with regards to the payment options? I.e. will I be able to use a ROW credit card with my APAC watch and vice versa?

What is a row credit card?
Garmin has an article published with a list of participating banks. Did you review that?
Basically, if your card is acceptable in the country you want to use it in then yes, you can use your card, in fact any card with either version of the watch.
What is a row credit card?
Rest Of World. In this context, not APAC.
Yeah, so credit card is one thing, transit cards is another.
So even though the list is not very long, there are places where you can charge money to your garmin and then use it to pay for buses and trains - in the case of Japan, you can even pay at many stores and supermarkets with your suica.
Interestingly, Suica is not even listed in garmin's official list:

Question is, does that mean, a RoW watch will not be able to use it? And how about the reverse...
(I know for a fact that most RoW phones will not support this function in Japan, even though their Japanese counterparts do - iPhone being the exception here, which seems to work regardless of where you bought it)
When I want to add a transit card, Suica is the only option. How about your watches? Do you get to see all options from above list, or just the ones from your country (if any)
