Data screen - Data fields - Battery hours

Hello everyone,

I’m a fan of Garmin watches since 2017 and I currently use a Fenix 7X, which I love, to track my daily life and sports activities. The main sport I practice is trail running, occasionally participating in races that range from 20km to 100km and so battery management is something very important to me. On one of the data screens of the trail running activity I have configured several data fields among which Battery Hours, as an indication of the expected battery life. Please see the attached image.

The value that appears in this data field at the beginning of the activity seems to me to be the maximum possible autonomy value according to the current battery level, reducing the use of the functionalities to GPS only. However, since I frequently use the map with the route loaded, an external heart rate monitor and the watch paired with the phone via Bluetooth, I expected that the information in the data field would adjust according to the actual battery consumption, but this does not happen. That is, about 25 minutes after starting the activity the expected autonomy drops to 62hr, after another 25 minutes it drops to 61 hr and so on.

To get around this difficulty, although I don’t like to use apps that are not produced by Garmin, I was forced to install the following application because it provides me with exactly the information I need and it seems reliable to me, according to my experience. apps.garmin.com/.../84104c99-6ad2-4bcb-8537-8bfb6d141089

However, I would prefer not to have to use it and simply be able to trust also this parameter provided by my Fenix 7X. Garmin, is there any way to solve this issue or is there any software update planned that includes it?

Thank you,

TE
