Garmin connect not showing right run route

I have a garmin fenix 7x solar. On my run yesterday on mile four garmin connect shows the incorrect route I actually ran. The route I ran was on the same as mile 16 shown on the picture.

Only had the watch 6 weeks from new and this isn't good especially the price you pay.

Previously I had a forerunner 235 and never had this problem.

Please can someone tell me how to avoid this happening again, my gps was fully working.

I like the watch but expect for such a big price the app can put on the correct route.

If I get any more issuea I am afraid I will want a refund.

What GPS mode are you using?

Also disable the overlay to see the real recorded track.

GPS is on all systems. Is this the best option?

Hm, there should also be All systems + Multiband for better performance (if you did not restrict it with a power profile)

If you disable the overlay in Garmin you will see the real recorded track. With overlay enabled

its a bit corrected.

I don't have the option in satalites for all systems + muliband. I have a fenix 7x solar. Can I get this?

Also how do I disable overlay?

I'm sorry. Multiband is only for Sapphire or Pro Models. You are already using the best option available for your watch.
Overlay: In Map view push the upper right layer button and choose no overlay. At the moment you have pace enabled.

I have turned overlay off. Picture below which I have marked in blue I didn't physically run, I ran the same as the top marked in red. It was a double loop. This bottom route has me going through deep water and fields which I didn't run.

Only had this issue now with fenix 7x my old forerunner tracked exactly what I did.

I am training for an ultra this is the reason I spent the money on fenix 7x With this issue showing completely wrong info than I run I think you would agree I have wasted my money completly. I expect paying over £500 it should at least get a route correct.

Firstly, given the hundreds of thousands or more people with this watch and without this problem, it would seem this is an issue with your watch (not common) or user/setting error. It’s hard to tell from the photo but anytime someone has had this type of complaint it is because they have

Settings-Map-Lock on road set to ON. I cannot remember if this is the default for this option (I don’t think it should be given how much better GPS is these days). ON works like the nav function on your phone - locks to the closest road. This can cause lots of issues when on trails, paths (maybe not on the map) etc.

See if you have set in map settings „lock on road“ to on as razmichael wrote. I don’t see a street where the wrong

path is, but could interference the recording. Turn it off.

No other ideas on my side. My Epix Gen 2 (and now Pro 51mm) and my EDGE1040 are always very accurate an never saw a

noticeable GPS drift/glitch.
