Fenix7 UP/Menu Button Stopped working

Suddenly had my Fenix7 Up/Menu button stop working. I see it’s common when used for swimming but the watch is only used for Running and Mountain Biking.

I have done some Garmin solutions of washing with clean water etc but to no avail.

Has anyone managed to get this resolved without having to replace the watch or use Garmin Support?

Same problem here. Sure seems to be a lot of button issues looking over these threads. Garmin wants $240 to exchange for a refurb. Nearly $1000 watches lasting about 2 years. No swimming or saltwater use in my case. I shower with it, but that’s the only water it really sees.

Had the same problem with Epix and Garmin replaced it under warranty. The replacement does have a different tactile feel to the buttons, so wonder if there has been a hardware change in the meantime

I am very sorry to hear the button is not working. For the cleaning, you want to ensure you submerge the watch in warm clean water for 10 minutes. Then press the button repeatedly when you remove the watch from the water. If there is not change, the device will need to be replaced. I'll have these issues maybe once a year, and it normally only occurs following a surf or a multiday hike where the back of the button gunks up with salt or dust. A soak in warm soapy water (repeat if needed) has always managed to break up whatever is behind the button and release it again.

In terms of regular maintenance, I scrub the watch with and old toothbrush and body wash once a week along with hitting all of the buttons whenever I'm in the shower.

Ive owned Garmins for maybe 8 years now and I've never seen a button physically fail (due to being broken). It's only ever been clogged by something.

Soaking in warm soapy water did not work. The button is not stuck - it still depresses and rebounds much as it did before. Plenty of travel. It doesn’t “click” like some buttons do, but it’s clearly moving okay. Some of the other buttons on the watch click and others don’t - but all the other buttons work. So, it doesn’t seem to be the motion of the button but, rather, the contact point of the button inside the watch.

Keep it submerged in lukewarm water for 10 minutes. That didn't help in my case, and I got a replacement under warranty. But even out of warranty, try giving Garmin a call.

thanks actually it happended within the period eof warranty, however i have been going trhough garmin retailler to solve it they recoemmend me to send it back to the US
