Race and weather specific race predictor.

I’ve noticed that in the feature list of the Forerunner 965 it mentions a ‘course and weather specific race predictor’ as well as the standard race predictor feature. Is the course and weather specific predictor available on the Fenix 7s Sapphire or does it just have the standard race predictor? Thank you.

  • Predicted weather and predicted result are available for events when entered in the Race Calendar.

  • Thanks for the reply. I understand that predicted weather and predicted result is available through the race calendar however I’m referring to the specific feature of ‘Course and Weather Specific Race Predictor’. This appears in Garmin’s specs for the 965 but not for the Fenix 7s SS, it’s in addition to the ‘race predictor’ feature.

It seems to suggest that Garmin will give a predicted result based on the exact course (so taking elevation etc into account) rather than just a generic distance.

Was just wondering if this is indeed on the Fenix 7s.

  • There are 2 predictions available on the Fenix7 or Epix 2, when you have a race on the calendar.

If you go to the race calendar widget, you will see your planned race and a prediction for it, accounting for weather and course patterns.

If you go to the performance wider, you will see your general race predictions 5k, 10k, etc.

In my case for example, for a 5k, there is a 28s slower prediction for my race than for a generic 5k, most likely attributed to heat?
