Activity tracking and power saving mode

How does it works on Fenix 7?

According to manual (https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/fenix6-6ssport/EN-US/GUID-6A33BE86-1A19-480A-BC44-01EAAFDA869A.html) on Fenix 6 there's option to enable/disable it.

There's no such option on Fenix 7(https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-C001C335-A8EC-4A41-AB0E-BAC434259F92/EN-US/GUID-6A33BE86-1A19-480A-BC44-01EAAFDA869A.html).

Is it always enabled or disabled? Or something else decides about it?

I'm interested in sleep tracking as I want to enable power saving during sleep.

So my question is: does activity tracking, including steps, floors climbed, intensity minutes, sleep tracking, and Move IQ events works in power saving mode on Fenix 7?

    As I wrote, it depends…

So are you looking for the power saving mode during Sleep tracking (as asked in this sentence) or during Activity tracking (as asked in the title of this thread)? Sleep is not an activity, rather the opposite Wink

If you want to turn options on or off during an activity, have a look at the Menu » Power Manager » Power Modes.

If you want to use Battery Saver during sleep, go to the Sleep Widget, long-press the Menu button, and in the Sleep Settings, enable Battery Saver. Make sure that the HRM sensor is enabled in the Battery Saver options, otherwise you will have no sleep data.

  • Did you read description from Fenix 6 manual?

    • Select Activity Tracking to turn off all-day activity tracking, including steps, floors climbed, intensity minutes, sleep tracking, and Move IQ events.

That option is not available on Fenix 7.

As I wrote, it depends which sensors you keep on in the Battery Saver settings. If you keep the Wrist Heart Rate on, then yes. If you need overnight PulseOx, you have to keep that one on, too (tough it consumes a lot of battery, so it would not make much sense together with the Battery Saver).

As you wrote yourself, the Activity Tracking on/off option is no more available on F7. It is permanently on (as long as sensors are enabled).
