I owned the F7Pro glass solar for fourteen days. Then I have to return it and stop selling my F7.
Here is what I like:
- The buttons are really better, they clearly click.
- Multiband is a good improvement for all satellites, but at the cost of battery.
- Flashlight is good, but I use it once just for testing and won´t use it on runs because I prefer more battery life.
What I don´t like:
- The six T-shaped notches on the bezel have very sharp edges, no problem to cut into a finger.
- The strap is not as soft and pleasant as on the F7, it´s just more hard. But it has some "locks" and it´s harder to lose the watch with unfastened strap.
- Solar glass has more reflections and lower contrast in the room, but nothing essential. Sapphire is more evil :-).
- The newly promoted weather widget with wind, temperature, and clouds is a little buggy, switching map colors from black to white while loading, it behaves strangely.
- No difference to me with Elevate 5 OHR sensor. Runing to 7th floor at 78bpm instead of 170... I also don´t believe in ECG, the metal pads seems to be under the glass to me, it seems more like for skin temperature to me. But we´ll se later.
- Probably I got a defective watch, but the vibrations were very unpleasant, it had a metal to metal noise. Someone might get goosebumps from it. :-)
- It drains the battery much faster than on my F7. Even with GPS only on handlebars with 120 klux on a 3-hour ride. Maybe SW bug, maybe reset will help. I don´t know.
So now I´m afraid of ordering a new watch and will stay with my basic silver F7. I also had a bad pixel on my F7, and since replacing it, I've had better GPS. Maybe they are changing HW revisions during the manufacturing period to improve the watch, or it was an coincidence.
