Sleeping for 74 hours?! Fenix 7X sleep mode is broken.

My almost new Fenix 7X Solar Sapphire's sleep tracking is currently broken and totally useless.

For example, right now it thinks I've been Sleeping for 74 hours *in the last day*, which is not only wrong but impossible.

This is what it shows on both the watch itself and Garmin Connect.

I wear the watch 24/7 even when sleeping so this should not be an issue.

Very frustrated -- this is a basic feature of a $1000 flagship smartwatch, it's supposed to be the best Garmin offers.

Instead core functions like this are broken. Can anyone assist/ anyone from Garmin want to keep me as a customer? Thanks.

This is not an acceptable solution. The ENTIRE POINT of the sleep tracking feature is that it intelligently detects when the user is asleep or awake.

Try calling the Support. However, I'd recommend doing the soft-reset of the watch first. That's without any risk or loss of data/settings. Master reset would be the next step, but that already involves having to reconfigure the watch from the scratch.

Having similar issues with sleep, but to the other extreme. It’s just not tracking what so ever.

tried soft and hard resets and a firmware reinstall, all to no avail unfortunately!

I’ll have to wait to see what an update brings otherwise it’ll be going in as a warranty claim.

In your place I'd contact the Support right now, since the next update will come in around 3 months, at the end of the Q3. Besides that, it is not a problem of the firmware, because the sleep monitoring works just fine for the majority of users. So either it is a problem of the settings (for example the Bed & Wake up time not set, or using a duplicate GC account), or a problem of the fit (strap too tight or too loose, or the watch too close to the wrist), or there a physiological issue (peripheral vasoconstriction, too dark skin, tattoos,...), or the device is defect.

Please copy Settings.fit file from GARMIN > Settings on your watch and upload it to the customer file sharing portal.

Hi BravoEcho, it looks like you have your sleep time set to 12:00 noon and your wake time to 8:00 AM. Adjusting your sleep window should fix this issue, but please reach out if you continue to have problems with this feature.

When the Garmin software thinks a user has slept for 117 hours, it is broken. This should not be something it even thinks is possible.

Telling your users that they have to MANUALLY tell the device when they sleep (I'm a truck driver, my sleep schedule is all over the place) is ridiculous. Why don't I just write down the time I wake up on a sticky note, that's the same thing.

The entire point of sleep tracking is to digitally track sleep. If a $1,000 Garmin smartwatch can't figure out when the user is sleeping and when they are active, I'll likely return it to REI for a full refund and buy an Apple.

Don't make your customers fix your own broken products.
