Epic 2 Pro States compatibility with Varia Vision in the specs but it isn’t working

I have read several of the other threads regarding this same issue, but I just received my Garmin Epix 2 Pro 51MM and the specs explicitly state that it is compatible with the varia vision. I can get the device to connect, but none of the data screens come through.

My question is, am I missing something in the config that has changed since my Forerunner 945 or is the spec sheet just misleading and there is no support for the device?

It seems the answer fully depends on who you talk to. Some people state it's possible that there will be forward compatibility while others say it's a lost cause. I can't imagine that this would be a terribly difficult software update, but it seems they have abandoned the possibility of making this work.

I'm wondering if there is a workaround, as it seems the Vision is compatible with the Edge 1030, and so is the Epix. If we use a 1030 to pair to the vision and we send data from the epix to the 1030, maybe that will work? Overkill for sure on tech, but a possible hot fix for those of us that really care about the Vision.
