Not happy with Trail Running VO2MAX algorithm changes in v13.22

See the picture below. Both of these sharp drops in VO2MAX happened after slow paced trail runs on very steep terrain (4000+ feet of elevation gain each) with fairly low average HR. Both of these were essentially a lot of Z1-Z2 hiking uphill followed by some very easy running downhill. Previously trail runs like that didn't affect VO2MAX - none of that indicative of my VO2MAX. I am sure my VO2MAX will pop right back tomorrow, but seeing those makes me want to disable Trail Running VO2MAX.

  • My cycling VO2 max has had that sort of behaviour since before 13.22. it used to concern me at first but it just fluctuates up and between 2 numbers which are not necessarily accurate in the first place. For me its just a guide to relative fitness levels. On good days Z1 or Z2 rides even give me n uplift on the graph. Note that the arrow shows your VO2 max as steady despite the downturn in the graph..
