Awful weather forecasting v13.22

The current temperature appears to be syncing correctly but the daily and forecasted high/low temps are super off - like upwards of 10C off.

Today's forecasted range is H17C / L11C, but the current temperature is 27C (which the watch got correct). Basically I can only trust the current temperature on my Fenix, the 4 day forecast is complete junk (tomorrow is expected to be 26C but the watch thinks it will only be 15C). I've tried setting different fixed locations near me as well to no success (I'm in Vancouver). Anyone else having similar issues?

  • Same here, high/low shows 21/10 but hourly forecast shows 26 (which is higher than high). Plus the forecast does not match with none of the other weather services and it's almost always wrong (if the forecast says sunny, garmin shows rain which never comes, and viceversa). It's the same if you use either phone location or fixed location. I really wonder what their weather forecast source is...

This issue has been there for a long time, not just in v13.22. Garmin weather is total garbage, cannot be trusted, totally useless.

  • That also depands how near the nearest weather station from the Garmin weather provider is, where the weather is taken for your location. In my case, the weather is always taken from a town (airport) 60 km away from my hometown. Unfortunately the Fenix/Epix series doesn´t show the location -- have requested that already for many times (I think forerunners do) - I know where the weather for my location comes from, because my Edge is showing the location. So the weather from Garmin in my home town is never reliable for me...

  • Oh man, I was hoping it was a firmware thing but super disappointing to hear this is the norm with Garmin. I tried different locations as you've tested as well, nothing lines up indeed. Well that really sucks...

  • I had something similar (Netherlands). Temp was 15-ish degrees, F7SS told me it was 27...

Checked the settings in Connect (even though I did not change anything); weather uses phone location. I did not travel recently to any location that would justify 27degrees:)

After restarting the watch, the temp was ok again.

  • Never observed significant deviation from the local weather forecast ..... usually +-1c

  • I think this problem denpends on region where you are. Same problem here in Austria/Tirol for me and friends In my case of my actual FR965 and EpixPro it makes no difference wheter the data is taken of the airport in Innsbruck or of a weather station on a mountain. In each case just the actual temperature is correct. All the other data is false by far. This is for all settings in GC and other watches I have/had. I have been addressing this problem to Garmin for years. Nothing changed up to now. Other weather apps in GIQ get it right. So Garmin should address to this finally imho.

  • I agree, I am using OpenWeather and it has been spot on. Definitely no excuse for Garmin to be feeding such unusable junk data to us while charging premium prices.
