Stop HRV measuring is it possible?

Is it possible stop HRV measuring? Since two weeks it show very low HRV, this can be true however I have some doubts about it. Simply I would like to stop it. I didnt have it wiht my Fenix 6 and 5 so I think I can live without it. Also is there any way to pause training readiness? Thank you all

  • Disabling the built in HR sensor will stop HRV measurements.

  • The only way to disable HRV is to disable the wrist HR during sleep, but you will lose the sleep metrics and more importantly, your resting HR will be off. You won't lose sleep over losing the sleep metrics and the training readiness, but the resting HR is important for the training load and VO2 Max calculations.

Simply ignore the training readiness and use the training load bands and the acute/chronic load ratio to guide your training intensity.

Personally, I take the HRV values at face value, it seems they don't have the highest weight in training readiness. This is expected as a temporarily lower HRV is maybe just a reflection of illness, allergy, jet lag or other ancillary stress. From a training perspective, it might just reflect a more intense bout of training. If you consider simultaneously how much you feel like training and the body battery, you have an alternative to training readiness. I understand there is the psychological pressure of not having every metrics in the "green" though...

  • Since two weeks mine has been in the state as well. After a long time in the balance zone it suddenly dropped to Low and stays there. I had put it down to a software update in the Fenix.

I might force a new Baseline as the Low reading is constant.

Thank you all for your time share your experiences.

I had Fenix 5,6,7 every time is the same kind of problem. Garmin destroy almost your expensive watch with their updates so you have no choice and you  buy *** Fenix 8 once is available but not for me. If I can share my wish I hope everybody do the same. I still can handle my Training Readiness by my own brain.

  • My Fenix 6x measures HRV and there’s no way to disable it. From my experience, it seems a balanced HRV status is connected with good sleep averages and a healthy running routine.
