How can I manually select Golf course.

I recently visited a course and it didn't give me a course option for that course but rather for all the other ones near by. How can I check what courses are on my 7S? Note - the course does seem to be apart of Garmin's database as it's selectable on the phone Golf app.

  • Note: course was Te Arai Links South Course - New Zealand

  • Double checking our Garmin Golf Course Locator/Database and selecting New Zealand along with Te Arai, it shows the course available.

All Fenix 7 series watches come with all 41,000+ golf courses that can be loaded and updated during the life of your watch.

It is a good idea to update all of your courses in case there were any changes made to a course off season or to add the new courses added, prior to each Golf season using Garmin Express on a computer. You can also update your Golf coursed through your watch Map Manager menu.

If you continue to have an issue, please reach out to Golf Product Support in your region.

  • Thanks for the response Chris. Just and FYI, this is on a Fenix 7S.

I did actually have the course downloaded on the Golf App but I don’t think it syncs to the watch.

  • I am sorry. I have edited my response above.

Your specific Fenix 7S model and including all Fenix 7 series watches all come with 41,000+ Golf courses that can be loaded to the watch. You will not manually add them 1 at a time through the Golf APP.

You can download and update all 3 CourseView regional Golf map files either through your watch Map Manager menu using Wi-Fi or using Garmin Express. (There are 3 regional CourseView map files.)

If you continue to not pull up the same course missing after updating your worldwide golf courses, please reach out to Golf Product Support in your region.

  • Hi Chris,

We have a relatively new course here in the Bluffton area that is not showing up on my watch.  The course is listed in the Garmin golf course database though.  I’ve attempted to go through my MapManager to update the golf course maps by selecting Courseview Americas.  It tells me my map version is 6.60 but does not give me an option to update to the latest version, if one actually exists.  How can I get the golf course downloaded onto my Fenix 7?

    Thanks!

  • It tells me my map version is 6.60

Hmm. Your Map Manager should be showing you v6.80 available for your update. (I just double checked my watch and I am being offered v6.80 through my Map Manager.)

If your watch Map Manager continues to not offer v6.80, please try directly plugging your watch into your computer USB port and use Garmin Express to update your worldwide courses. If no matter what you have tried does not get you that new v6.80 update to see your new course, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region.

  • After connecting my watch to my laptop and opening Garmin Express there was a notification in the software than many of the maps on my watch needed updated, which I proceeded to do.  My Courseview Americas version is now showing v7.10.  I will confirm that the golf course originally missing is now showing up after I return to play it again.

    Thanks for all the help!

  • I experienced the exact same issue today with the exact same course. Course was downloaded onto Garmin connect, but did not sync to my watch. I’m using a Fenix 6 Pro, and for the first time I was not able to use it for golf. Each time I selected the golf activity it would search for courses via GPS and was not able to find the course. I also couldn’t manually select the course map I had downloaded
