Fenix 7 USB-OTG compatibility

I am having serious problems uploading my activities to connect. Sometimes only upload when plugging the watch into the computer. But when I am traveling I don't have a computer...

I was wondering, maybe there is a possibility by using an usb otg cable to plug the watch into an Android phone or an iPad and have access to the watch like a pendrive?

Did you tried that? You know if it is possible with the Fenix 7?

I don't know where is the problem. Looks like the watch cannot sync via connect some activities. The phone is not the problem since I tried various phones. Those activities are not uploading via wifi either…

I tried with the following on my Samsung Galaxy Tab s6 lite but it didn't recognize the storage on my f7x (not sure it's actually a OTG cable)

I contacted Garmin about this issue. Is not happening on the same type of activities. Until the moment looks a pretty random issue

If you are the only one having this issue, it might not be a firmware issue but an isolated bug.

Have you already restarted watch and phones? Tried removing the watch pairing from phone bluetooth and GC app and pairing it again?

If nothing works I guess you should do a full reset on the watch.

If after reset it don't work maybe try a device replacement from Garmin warranty?

What activities does is work ok and what activities does it not? Do you do anything different when stopping/saving some activities?

Random issue. Happened with hike, run and trail run. Doing nothing different when saving the activities. I really tried to find a correlation but can't find it. Now, I am syncing all the activities via wifi, to discard any bluetooth strange issue. Doing this since 3 days ago. The issue happened in 10% of activities until the moment

Yes , it works, at least with android, I used it to send mp3 files to the watch, and it is also the only way to upload maps…the FENIX shows as a pen drive

It’s good that you might have an answer to your question. However, there is no solution to your actual problem, namely why you are having issues uploading some activities. If you really want that solved then you might want to begin a dialogue with Garmin Support

What model android device (mode number if possible) OS version # and what OTG cable please?

Yes watch immediately goes to the charging screen when the tablet is turned off.
