Are HRM chest straps working reliable?

I remember a topic where connecting a chest strap caused speed spikes or pauses in watersports activites. Is that fixed?

I don't really need one and don't know if I can be bothered to put it on everytime but I'm still curious about the more accurate data.

But if it causes more issues in combination with other data recordings I won't get one.

  • Same as your post before did not add anything.

The issue is probably with how it's handled on the watches, don't think a 3rd party strap will behave differently.

And I really doubt the manual states "but if you use this with SUP activities it will mess up your speed recordings"

  • As a person admitted other day having problem to change language in his mobile GC when I suggest you to change language to English and that way fing AirBike excercise you was asking you have strong opinions about software engineering.

The issue is probably with how it's handled on the watches, don't think a 3rd party strap will behave differently.

    Why?
First, will be 3rd party with different software, most probably using BT connection to whatch, not like Garmin, which uses by default ANT+ protocol.

From my point of wiev the most important question is what are activities you are doing more often and how external HR sensor will help you in these to track your results?
