Every second recording does not change anything at all about accuracy. I don't know why the myth is still alive.

You would be better served (and more efficient) by talking with Garmin support directly.
They will probably have you reboot watch and see if that helps
Then reset watch to default and set up as new to see if that fixes anything.
If watch was updated directly from watch menu system you may want to update using Garmin express software from a computer. When you update from the watch directly certain modules like GPS is not updated immediately. So you could have ab older module that hasn't updated.

Just do a test. Go walk around your house. First use "walk" app. Then do the same route using your usual ski app. You will see the difference. Post it here to pressure Garmin to fix this or just roll back to GPS 2.35 software.
