Fenix 7 sapphire solar cobalt blue - buttons not working - vibrate without reason - unresponsive

Hello Garmin community,

I recently bought a Fenix 7 sapphire solar cobalt blue (v10.44) and the first time I went paddle surfing, I’ve got undesirables symptoms:

-long press on buttons not working
-vibrate without reasons
-tempest alarm raised
-pressing on lock buttons result on lock and instantly unlock
-hard reset do not help

I sent it back to the vendor and got a new one (v10.46)

Once gain at the first use on paddle surfing same symptoms appear. Some symptoms upload on YouTube xt0f29

I will send it back to garmin this time.

MY QUESTIONS are:

Do several users have the same king of issues ?

Is it suppose to work on water surface sports ?

Isn’t a production line issue to have 2 tile the same behaviour after first use above sea ? I mean perhaps a bad serie.

I’m very disappointed and cross my fingers to get the new one work as intended.

Sounds an awful lot like what happened when water got into my 7X. It was shorting a couple of buttons intermittently, so I got all kinds of strange behavior. Garmin replaced it though, and the replacement has been going strong without issue in all kinds of wet conditions.

i wondering how many of new watch I will need to get one working in wet situation. Seems linked to material production line issues.

I know this is an old post but I was wondering if you are still getting this issue? I'm just waiting for my 5th Fenix 7 sapphire solar cobalt blue replacement to be delivered. It is always the same issue, top left, middle left and bottom right buttons just stop working.
