Tactix 7 (10.46) not updating METAR/TAF data

As above.

Phone is connected (BT)
Garmin apps active in background
WiFi connected to phone and watch

Aviation weather randomly updates for a few hours/sometimes a day and then goes back to a blank spinning empty app. I'm certain I found a setting about "stale METAR" data times and I set it to 2 days from 6hrs, thinking that was how long it would stay current but it seems that its always about 2 days after it fails to update that it suddenly CAN update.

Very frustrating as I can't find any info and have tried a full watch reset, phone and app reset, and checked connections which is all Garmin Aviation department could suggest..

Any ideas?

Air bases updated? what country are you in? Is the correct airport selected in the widget?

Hi there,

Yep Aviation Databases updated, via WiFi and tried connecting to laptop.

Im in the UK.. I've tried the favourite, EGHH and my local one EGSP which it finds and suggests distance to etc...

It's strange because it finds and updates every couple of days, for about 6-12 hours then refuses to update again for a day or so!?

Apps? I suggest having ONLY one Garmin application running in the background at all times. CONNECT MOBILE.

OK I'll stop Garmin Pilot and Connect it, but in all fairness I've only had them running in the background since Garmin Aviation Support told me to have them running in the first place..

The only way to resolve this is to clear the aviation weather cache (hold middle > Aviation > Clear Weather Cache). I have to do this basically every day (v13.22). Seems it’s not getting fixed anytime soon…

Have you manually added your new Tactix 7 AMOLED device to the Aviation Database Manager by going through the FlyGarmin.com site? If not, you will need to first. If you have any questions, you will reach out to the Aviation Product Support team since you are updating Aviation features on your new watch.
