Have you been already outside, started an activity for having a look, if gps is received?

Yes! Today I did a 3 hour hike, and it has not connect during this time.

Ok- sometimes it comes back after an activity start. Have you already connected it to a computer with Garmin Express to have a look, if the gps fw is added?

I tried. It did not offer an update.

Have you already just powered down your device and started it again and started an activity?

Yes, I tried!

Sorry, no more ideas to help. Hope someone else has other ideas to solve your prob.

I'm not sure, but I think GPS 0.00 means an update of the sensor hub failed and you need to send it in for a replacement unit. Probably Garmin - Chris can help with it

I would say trying going over to the Beta section and pull the latest Alpha or Beta build. Then plug your watch into the computer and drag only the RemoteSW file into the RemoteSW folder. Then unplug. 

If that doesn’t work then I would do the entire Alpha build that’s out there. It may need the gupdate file to actually install the new GPS software.
