Fenix 7 / Quatix 7 Tides are off by whole meters!

Hey guys,

so I have Quatix 7X Sapphire Solar and there was a firmware update like 2 weeks ago (10.43) I found out that the tides for Baltic sea are completely off. I was there a few days ago on a ship, wanted to check the data and in Swinouscie and Dabki (north Poland) the tide app says and absurd tide of 4 meters!!! Baltic sea is not considered to be a tidal waters and the average tide here is like 0.3 meters. My Quatix went all mad and says 4 meters.

I tried a few tide updates + watch restart - didnt help and a friend has Fenix 7 and he installed tides and has the same problem.

Whats the point of this app? I mean - given the price tag I expect things to work and not telling nonsense like this.

  • Just read the comments on this "additional" app. Most of them are claiming wrong tide information.

The app is free. So you did not spent any money on it.

There are also some other apps available for tides information. So you should try them.

  • Hey Michael, I got it but the fact that its free is not really true. I have Quatix not Fenix and I bought it specifically because of the fact that those are marine watches - it cost  a LOT and Quatix comes already equipped with this tides app by Garmin. I only found out that its on IQ store later. So for me - its part of the expensive watch from the beginning...

I simply wanted to start this thread in hopes that someone from Garmin will see it. I have no idea how to officialy report a bug to Garmin and their support is a mess of links with the obvious attempt to stop customers from contacting them.

I understand your point though... Will try another app then :-(
