I tested the new wrist base power feature from Garmin and have some question. I did an easy run (Garmin Zone 2) 5:30 min/km pace. But the power is showing Zone 5 (Short Interval Power) with an AVG Power of 340W. I understand that Run power is a tricky thing if it comes to comparing different runners to each other but this seams very off. So I have a few ideas:
- Since I only did easy runs so far with power it still needs to "learn" my whole running power spectrum (Easy Run, Tempo Run, Intervals) to adjust accordingly.
- I actually have such a bad running technique that the data is correct but I just waste lots of energy. Here it would be interesting to get an idea what data Garmin uses to estimate the power? This could also help me a lot to improve my technique in the long run...
- Something is broken?
Any ideas?
