Put Stopwatch Time on Main Watch Face?

Not that I'm aware of. Closest thing I know of is when you long-press the Light button to bring up the circle menu, it'll show the stopwatch time in the middle (if the stopwatch is currently running).

The stopwatch-looking icon on the watchface that you're referring to is I believe the "Weekly Active minutes" data field.

The stopwatch itself has the digital time of day at the top of it. But what I'd really like is an analog watch face for time of day, with a digital display of the stopwatch. Over the years, I've owned multiple conventional "chronograph" watches that had such a display combination, so it seemed natural to me that it should be one of the most common watch faces for a fully configurable watch face... But I guess not.

Maybe it's not exactly what you are looking for, but this might do the work for you. I configured my back button to have stopwatch as a hotkey. This allows me quick access and the stopwatch has the time of the day as well.

Yes. Stopwatch as a hotkey is how I'm handling it now (until a better option comes around).

Given the huge number of data fields that potentially can be displayed on the watch face, it just seems absurd that something as basic to many watches as stopwatch time isn't one of them. Maybe I'll play around with watch face designer tools to see if it's possible to make my own. Maybe there's some technical reason it can't be done?

Hi - I would be really interested in this. Even an analogue display solution for the timer, in the style of a classic divers watch face, with timer marked in the bezel area,which is very easily read at a glance.

• It’s a sorely lacking data field that is an option on traditional watches as well as Apple Watch. I sure hope Garmin implements this. It may be battery related, but I don’t know.
