Stuck in "Reset default settings" menu

I just received my Fenix 7x solar 2 days ago. When I powered it on, it was stuck on the "reset default settings" screen. I was able to get it to work for about the last 16 hours, but it still seems to be buggy. During a workout, this am I could not get the watch to work properly, so I shut it off. After restarting it I am now stuck back on the "reset default settings" screen.  Has anyone else experienced this?

  • As a first step, try holding the upper left LIGHT button down for about 20 seconds until the watch turns off.  Wait a few seconds and then press and release the LIGHT button to turn the watch on.

This might reset the watch to your last settings.

  • Tried that. It didn’t work.

  • I am sorry there is a serious issue. Please return and exchange your new watch through the vendor you bought it through.

  • Same here! 3 months old. Never had issues before. Battery drained and when I recharged the watch it got stuck on reset default settings. Managed to get it past that screen to the QR code but it wouldn’t connect to the phone.

  • I am also stuck at this same stage. Any way to do a hard reset?

  • I am sorry you have an issue. If your watch is stuck on asking you permission to master reset, your watch bottom right button is being perceived as pressed when it is not.

You can hard reset your watch by holding down your top left button until your watch shuts off then let go of the button.

If your watch repeatedly ends up in the same Yes/No to master reset your watch, if it is potentially a hardware issue with a bad bottom right button, you can soak your watch in luke warm water for 10 minutes to see if it will clear up the issue. If your watch has gone sideways, soaking will not resolve the issue. Please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region.

  • Thanks for the answer. The warm water worked in fixing the back button. It was still not rconnecting with my phone. Was able to fix that by removing the phone from Bluetooth list and then it worked just fine.

    thanks for the answer.
