HIIT timer - Stopwatch or Lap

A CrossFit (HIIT) class duration is about an hour. During this time, I start the HIIT activity and let it run through the entire class. Within each class there are typically two sections, a weight lifting, and a workout of the day consisting of an EMOM, AMRAP, or Rounds and Reps workout. I would like to use my watch as my personal timer, vs the clock on the wall.  

Question: Is there a way to start a time within the HIIT activity? AKA a lap button.

  • Garmin added HIIT activity to available workouts but it's not selectable by default. Press upper righthand button and go all the way down to the bottom of activities and select the "+". Then press up/down buttons to place activity where you want it. When you start a HIIT workout, you get a prompt for EMOM, AMRAP, or reps workout.
