Faster Battery Drain using v9.36

Hi, I've got the 9.36 update yesterday at 11AM on my Fenix 7S Solar Saphire and 24hs later the battery went down from 49% to ~29%. At the time I'm writing this post (4 hours since last measurement) I'm on 23% battery, so a 6% drain in 4 hours -no GPS activities, just basic watch- I'm using an standard Garmin face and didn't run any other app since the update yesterday.

I have the watch just a week from now and as soon I've got it it was updated to 9.33, and it lasted 6.5 days with a full batery load. Now with the current rate i guess it'll last no more than 5 days with full charge, so I guess some issue was now introduced with 9.36.

Any clues?? Tks in advance!

Reset and new fully charging is recommended from other users.

I have never had battery drain until going to 9.36 then the new alpha - I had up to 18 days (albeit with a lot of solar) on my 7 (not s, or X) with 8.xx, but drain just in smartwatch mode is 3x higher - in activities it is the same as before.

It is interesting that drain is manifested differently, some users reported the opposite - they have significantly more drain during activity.

That probably makes it harder for Garmin to pinpoint exact cause of battery drain, although it should not be so difficult to revert to previous code to resolve all those issues introduced by 9.xx versions.

For me, the alpha device usage reports my watch is mostly in low power mode which suggests drain is in some system Device Usage widget cannot detect

But... You are not experiencing any battery drain issues. You are not even running Software Version 9.36 - the subject of this thread.

Nope. Been running 9.36 on both my tactix 7 Standard and epix Gen2 with no unusual battery drain.

What have I missed ? Isn't 9.36 a beta ? The tactix does not participate in the beta program.

What you missed was the Public Release of Software Version 9.36: Garmin Announcement of Public Release of Software Version 9.36

And you are correct. the tactix 7 does not participate in the Beta program.

After all, this forum is for the discussion of Public Release software - like 9.36. Alpha/Beta software should be discussed in the Beta Forums specifically set up by Garmin to discuss Alpha/Beta issues.

Ah, oops. Sorry! I missed the rollout of 9.36 as release. My tactix 7 pro is still on 9.33.
by the way, I have no problems with 9.33 either.
