Who does NOT see a battery drain issue with 9.33?

See title. I wonder how many people don't have the battery drain issue. I guess we established so far that for some disabling segments stopped the drain. In others deleting custom watch faces or specific data fields/widgets. In others nothing helped. I have neither segments, nor specific widgets or watchfaces installed/enabled, and I really want this update. But only having a 7S, the drain issue could deplete my watch within a day or two. I do have lots of other custom settings, thus resetting it would take a loooong time.

  • 7X SS here without issues.  6.5% +/- used per day w/ data heavy 3rd party watch face and cycling or running ~1 hr every other day or so.

  • I'm sure you won't be loud and would be happy if you were in the same shoes like those with battery drain issues... Perhaps a bit of empathy?

  • 100% agree.

The sense of THIS special tread is to show that there are in fact users with no problems there (like lucky me) and to describe their usage patterns or things they did to help themselfes with a problem that obviously pains too many users. No matter with part of useres is larger, ALL shelled out A LOT of premium money for a not for all users premium product.

With this special problem (Battery) it's imho a no go that unhappy customers have to stroll thru all the differnt threads to collect bits of information and experiences which maybe could help them. Normal procedure imho should always be: únhappy users state a problem and garmins answers right away with options to solve the problem.

What companies tend to forget nowadays is the paying customer is fully entitled to be "just" a user and not a systems specialist who is able to troubleshoot and fix problems himself. this is no open source product altough the community really makes that impression as for knowledge and activity. Kudos for that to all the helpful users.

As for entify: Quite shure you will be happy if you should run to one problem or the other with no help from official contacts so far to find help from unresonsible - meaning voluntary - sides. This is the reason why I'm posting at the moment with no problems so far: to find maybe help when I'd be in need of it. If never - so much better,

    Perhaps a bit of empathy?

    Exactly.

  • Ok, in everyday mode my battery does not drain quickly. All as normal. But in gps mode when running the drainage is crazy. I just lost 10% on a 60 minute run. No map, no music, no external sensor, but multi satellite mode, light should have been off when not looking at watch, but it didn't go off. 10% next to normal usage is NOT ok for just a 60 minute. Hmpf.

  • Well I think more information is needed:

What Type of Fenix do you have? Big differnce between 7S and 7X. With 7S it might be acceptable depending on what settings you have, 7X imho probably never.

Which Multi-GNSS do you use? Automatic as default? Probably the one they advertise as SatIQ? Try w/o Multiband and GPS only for reference and keep suggestion from ramon_73 in mind. Battery Graph will help you to see which action had which impact.

Also as for the light: Did you check whether the setting you made is made for Activities also? Do you have Gesture enabled? Then it may depend on how you walk if it switches on or not. *LOL*

AND most important: Do you synchronize live? Thread "Battery Dran with 9.33 Simplified" seem to hint that some Users see a HUGE impact with synchronizing permanentely even without Strava. And do you have Strava? Seems to be a problem for at least some.

Small hint: thats the thread of the happy or shall I say lucky users with this point, seems your non of them. ;-) Nevermind

@all: additional to former posts: I almost never synchronize, maybe thats whats bringing me to this special thread. ;-)

  • Hi, before the latest software update to 9.33 I was able to use my Fenix 7 sapphire Solar for a week with an average of 1.5 hrs a day.  After the update I barely can use it for three days.
can this be fixed? I don’t think the Kate’s upgrades with 50% of the battery time!
