Who does NOT see a battery drain issue with 9.33?

See title. I wonder how many people don't have the battery drain issue. I guess we established so far that for some disabling segments stopped the drain. In others deleting custom watch faces or specific data fields/widgets. In others nothing helped. I have neither segments, nor specific widgets or watchfaces installed/enabled, and I really want this update. But only having a 7S, the drain issue could deplete my watch within a day or two. I do have lots of other custom settings, thus resetting it would take a loooong time.

  • Never had drain.. -0,2% pr. Hour. Using standard watch face where heart rate update ever second, pulse ox only during sleep

  • And you are on 9.33, right? I think we need more reports like these. But of course people are quicker to complain than to say that something is working.

  • I have a 7s running 9.33. I'm lucky and don't have a drain issue. Usage pattern: 3-5 activities per week, 4-6hours GPS (all systems), no navigation, no Pulse-OX, sync via WiFi, Bluetooth connection max 10-15 minutes per day,  Garmin watchface with heart rate. I charge once per week - remaining battery is usually at 20-35%. With navigation and map on screen the battery consumption increases significantly.

  • D'accord.  Nothing to complain about Battery from my side as well, 0,2% with 9.33, same like 8.37 with HR, HRV, SPOx 24/7 BUT it is a T7BE, thus bigger Battery anyway. Also I did a factory reset before going online to update anyway and then it was a nobrainer to do it again after update. So it's not exactly your use case but comfirms that in general battery is not worse with 9.33 than 8.37.

What I observed: with 8.37: right after full charge it told me 100% 22days left. with 9.33 it startet with 18days at 100% but adjusted next day to 97% 20days. Seems that the prediction now is much more aware of the actual usage and ajusts prediction even to the better side.

  • Fenix 7 Solar, 9.33, GCM for Android kept up-to-date, and I participated in each phase of the 9.xx alpha/beta program.

I haven't had any particular battery drain issues at any point since getting my F7. Built-in watch face, 4-5 activities per week with GPS, no third-party integrations or CIQ apps, I don't use notifications from my phone, I don't keep pulse ox on, though I do an occasional spot-check, or monitoring just one night's sleep. I don't typically keep it on the map screen during an activity, which would drain a lot more battery.

After a week's usage from 100% charge, I tend to be down around 70%. ~3 weeks of battery life is not a problem for me! But I hope those who have battery problems can get them fixed.

  • I have normal battery drain on both my tactix 7 Standard and epix gen 2 - both on 9.33.  Neither watch ever had any Alpha/Beta software installed, only standard public updates over Garmin Express.  FYI

  • I don't see increased battery usage in watch mode - it's okay here.

Unfortunately, activities with GPS cause twice as much use than it should be (and than it was before).

I was a tester of all Alpha and Beta 9.XX versions.

  • Ok, installed it, and have been looking at the battery every few minutes since Rofl one thing I noticed is that the altitude for once is correct at 2m. It’s been anything from 35 to -7 in the last couple of days. Yeah. I’m about 2m above sea level at the moment *watches a fish swim by*

  • I have a F7 Solar running 9.33. I don't have a drain issue.

Usage pattern: 5-7 activities per week, 6-8 hours GPS (all systems) per week, maybe 2 hours navigation, no Pulse-OX, sync via Bluetooth, Bluetooth connection max -15 minutes/day, Garmin watchface without heart rate, one health status/day.

  • Yes 9.33 since day 1 of the release - Didnt disable strava or garmin segments as some suggest.
