I successfully updated my Tactix 7 watch yesterday to v. 9.33.
There's one issue I'm seeing though and for me, it's kind of a big deal. No matter what I do, no events appear to sync to the watch. Hence, Primary Race and Race Calendar glances are both empty, no training plan is loading, and load focus recommendations are not race/phase specific. Basically, all race-related functionality in v.9.33 appears to be broken.
I tried:
- Restarting my watch and GCM after adding an event
- Syncing with GCM, Garmin Express, and via WiFi
- Adding my own event as public and using existing official races via search
- Modifying an event to force it to sync (like start time for my event set as public, or training goal for an official event)
- Copied Calendar.fit from working Epix2 to Tactix 7
- Tried Send to Device in GC web calendar. Curiously, the list of compatible devices omits Tactix 7
It seems either this functionality is broken in Tactix 7, or Garmin Connect cloud currently doesn't recognize Tactix 7 as device supporting new race training features.
Anybody else have this problem?
UPDATE: I chatted with Garmin Support who confirmed the issue exists and currently there are no workarounds. Resetting a watch won't help. It appears Garmin Connect indeed doesn't send events in certain cases. However, the issue is specific to some watches, and not Tactix 7 series per se. The rep actually had the problem with his Epix2, which works just fine in my case.
So, if you have similar problem, please contact Garmin to be be added to the existing ticket and be notified when it is resolved.
