how to really delete an activity

Hello,

So I own an epix and a fenix 7x.

My 10 year old boy wanted to run with me.( a short 5k)

He asked me if he could use one of my watches since I dont run with both at the same time....the kid is very reasonable!

So I disable the training status on epix (pause) but not on fenix7x since I am running! so It does not affect my recovery metrics.

So we both race at the same time ( more or less) me with fenix 7x and the kid with the epix.

I save my activity ...all is good on my fenix 7x

So on my epix that my son just usedI delete the activity on the watch and in the connect Iq android app.

I get 20 hour recovery for my 5k run on the fenix 7x.

1 minute later....It goes to 3 days  and says my vo2max is now bumped since it has recorded my sons performance ( his average heart rate was like 190)...

Now all my metrics are F.

How can I recover my stuff!

Also is there a way I can lend my watch for 1 run without everytthing going to sh_t?

Thanks forum for your help!

  • Yikes, that is annoying!  Wondering out loud here...haven't tried it, but can you go on the Garmin Connect website and delete it there? Not sure...but worth trying if you haven't!

  • Yeah, that should help.

Anyway, to defend Garmin a bit. Both watches are connected to the same profile. Lending watch to someone else will, of course, affect the same profile. That's what the watch supposed to do when is connected to the same profile. Garmin could implement some kind of "incognito mode". When watch can be used by someone else and not upload any metrics to the original profile. But how often is that use case? Sport watch is very personal exactly because it's measuring user's HRM, sleep, Vo2Max, etc.

Alternatively, you could and you should disconnect your watch from your phone and profile and connect to your son's. Probably reset of the watch would be needed. It is a bit of hassle but besides time needed for that, watch should sync with your profile later on without problem.

  • But

let say your put on a fauty sensor at everything out of wack

You should be able to say don't use this workout

    its prob pretty simple

Can anyone at Garmin please help?

  • delete the activity from your list on gc, plug in the watch, go to the activities folder and delete the activity file there to ensure it's gone forever and doesn't re-up upon your next sync. done. what's the problem?
