Livetrack : An activity is limited to 24H00

Hello,

I finished my Ultra-Trail 140km (Verbier - St Bernard) last week.

I used Livetrack for my family to find me at time to the "Ravito"

After 92km and 24h00, Livetrack stopped without reasons.

I did another test at home and after 24h00 livetrack stop.

I have another ultra-Trail in September and I must use Livetrack (because he takes only 5% of the battery of my smartphone/ hour)

If I stop my watch and I restart the trace, I lost the full trace :-(

Today, I remarked the same issue in this Forum 2 years ago on Fenix6 !

Do you have a plan to solve it in short time ?
or we must count in years ?

Br,

Jean-François

  • I don't have that turn by turn limitation on my Garmin. edge 530 head unit. I have full turn by turn in any route beyond 350kms. I also ride with the map screen on all the time, because for my purposes, it's really the only data I care about at a glance. I charge the battery at checkpoints to keep it alive through the duration. I understand this is not something that's possible in a race.

By the way, the LiveTrack 24hr issue has since been acknowledged and fixed by Garmin, but only in x40 models. So I'm still screwed on that front unless I throw more money at the problem.

  • But in the last period, the direction indications / turn by turn, for races over 350km, are missing.
    Do you have a fix?

There used to be a limit of 200 course points (Each turn instruction is a course point), but to my knowledge this was lifted somewhere in 2023 on the Fenix 7. Do you still experience this on recent firmwares?

  • Yes. I have the latest firmware.

Also, my friends with Fenix 6x pro.
