PacePro - Watch says Ahead, Audio prompt says Behind

I ran a half marathon yesterday using PacePro and a mapped course and PacePro segments set to every mile.

On each segment change the Audio prompt gave the summary of the upcoming segment and also reported me as being X seconds behind. This contradicted the watch display of X seconds ahead (X was the same). Towards the end when the tiredness kicked in and the hills started winning, this flipped so the watch said behind and the audio said ahead - either way there was a contradiction.

Is the audio getting confused with the +/- symbol before the time?

I am on v8.37, I last used PacePro on v8.16 (1st May) and did not notice this was an issue but that's not saying it just was missed.

I've submitted a bug report a while ago. Same issue on the 945 LTE.

Hi,

Not yet. Hopefully this is being worked for the next SW development cycle.

Hi,

Same for me with PacePro today on my Epix 2. At each new segment, it said behind instead of ahead, and ahead instead of behind (in french language set on my watch).

The split pace objective was also totally wrong at each new segment (on the audio message, not on the watch screen).

Firmware : 8.37 (Epix 2)

I think this is because of the use of '+' for behind and '-' for ahead. It's confusing enough to look at and clearly confuses the audio. There's been long conversations with Garmin about having the more intuitive '+' for ahead and '-' for behind, Well, more intuitive for me at least!

What's worse is the the f6 and LTE are opposite of each other.

And what's even worse, it reverses the +/- when you cross a Segment, and that was apparently an intentional decision someone made, and is documented in the manual as such (https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=3iG9HicaNC1p4Xf9OJc3k7, see "segments" at bottom of page)

Me too! Fenix 7s solar here. Sam issue. Currently on 9.33 software. Running my first marathon in a few weeks and would love to have this working. It’s a minor issue in the scheme of things but it’s a little demotivating when it says “behind” when I am actually ahead.

I haven't used this feature but find the example above very confusing - the 'minus' sign being used for ahead. What it is supposed to mean - minus 7 seconds ahead?

The minus sign has negative connotation so to me the minus would mean that I am behind. Also in the Live Segments feature on the same watch the 'plus' sign means ahead and the 'minus' sign - behind. At a minimum, these two features should be consistent.

I was wondering what I did wrong during the pacepro configuration.

Using Epix with 9.33 and Audio prompt still saying Behind when I was ahead of the goal set... a bit disappointing that something "that simple" can scape the Garmin team testing
