The next software update will be later in the Summer. The biggest change with the Fenix 7, Epix 2, and Tactix 7 is their updates will be quarterly vs. not knowing and the updates feeling like they…
Tactix has its own FW. The 8.35 of the fenix is not compatible. The version number for Tactix will certainly differ again.

But wasn´t there a statement from Garmin, that the Tactix will get the firmware updated at the same time whenever the Fenix will get a official firmware update, not the beta or alphat?
Exactly, this meassage was pinned previously, but not any longer ...
My Tactix 7 AB received sw 8.21 , no update since then but the 8.35 rollout is at 10%.
The Tactix 7 is on quarterly official software releases like the Fenix 7 series but the 3rd QTR release is still coming starter later this Summer. Q3 is defined as July-Sept.
Sorry Chris, I do not get your answer..when 8.35 (or say 8.36 for Tactix) is going to be released ? Summer is in two weeks, and you wrote 'later', hence my question
Hi Chris,
please clarifiy more the firmware update for the Tactix line. It is a little bit frustrating that the "flagship" model is getting less "developing love" than the more "mainstream" product line. In particular by seeing the Fenix 6 / Tactix Delta example where both lines are getting the updates at the same time.

It's a relatively straight forward answer for the Tactix 7 series. The Tactix 7 has aviation features. Our United States FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) ensures airplanes remain in the sky by performing frequent audits for every aviation product produced. Most are aware but for anyone that reads this that is not, we also have a full Aviation segment of devices.
The Tactix 7 series will still receive quarterly updates but is excluded from the Alpha/Beta programs.
Hi Chris,
thank you for the explanation. It is making sense that because of the Aviation feature that you need to go through a extra approval procedure for any change, which cannot be done for beta Versions. I can understand that. However I would have prefered to know that upfront before buying the watch with Aviation features, because I do not need those features at all. I wanted to try out the Ballistic Features of the Tactix. Most likely I would have not choosen a watch with Aviation features by knowing the consequences of getting less freaquent software updates. Again, I can understand the reason why this is neccessary, but because I have no use for the Aviation features it is for me a personal disadvantage.
But again thank you for the "technical" explanation.
