I agree that it's an odd marketing choice by Garmin.

announcing a bunch of free new features for the Fenix 7? Yeah, 100% evil. Making a cheap plastic version for people who can't afford Sapphire Titanium watches? Outrageous. They need to be stopped.
Good luck with Suunto. My 9 baro nearly has the features my old Fenix 2 had but with a slightly shonky app.
The problem is that some features of the Fenix were only for the sapphire version and it's a 100€ extra on an already expensive watch. And then a few months after that, a medium level watch offers the GPS accuracy for three times cheaper. Impossible not to feel robbed... But what I don't understand is, if dual-band and 32GB storage are that important to you (which clearly it is, because this post is very emotional) then why didn't you just buy a Fenix that has dual-band and 32gb of storage in the first place?
You bought a watch that you knew would never have those things, but now you're upset about it because a new less expensive watch came out that has those things? So then trade it in and buy the less expensive watch. Problem solved.
Or sell all your Garmin stuff and switch to Suunto, that's also a very rational decision. Either way.
