Fenix 7 Base vs 955, are you kidding me?

Reducing the price is amazing, congrats to everyone that is able to score such a fantastic ecosystem and watch.

But now I feel duped buying the base Fenix 7.

The 955 is $200 less than the base Fenix 7.

The 955 basically has the same screen. [Not really a complaint I suppose, but I'm reaching for any sort of "upgrade" the $700 Fenix has over the $500 955)

The 955 has 2x as much memory, are you serious? The base Fenix 7 has 16gb and the 955 ($200 less!) has 32gb.

The 955 has multi-band the base Fenix 7 does not.

The memory and multi-band are the largest slaps in the face. The furthest stretch I can reach for is I paid $200 more for less memory in exchange for ~10 more hours of GPS time.

    The way I see it is that at the end of the day there is nothing a 955 user can do that you won't be able to do with your base F7. But, there are things that you'll be able to do that the 955 user won't be able, so..

    @fmercado, hat is not true. For example, 955 user can download more maps and songs since it has 2x storage of fenix 7 standard.

    Just sold my Fenix 6 Sapphire and with new 955 release I'm confused witch should I buy: 955 or Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar (Multiband + 32GB)

    I really like the Fenix build, do you think that new features from 955 will be on 7 ? Thanks

    I know it comes down to taste sometimes, but I think you should consider that Fenix Sapphire screen is way harder to see. I have one and driving, cycling, specially close to sunset, the darker screen hits you....

    I know it’s harder to read, I owned 6 sapphire and indoors was quite harder on 7 It’s even worse that’s why I think I go with 955 even it’s not tank build; I will go on shops and compare it side by side. Tough decision.

    Enough already!  Everyone here complaining was perfectly fine with buying a F7 without multi-band and 16 GB's when they purchased their watch.  Now it's an issue?  This happens all the time.  Vehicles, furniture, household goods, groceries, etc. are purchased and then found either upgraded and/or cheaper later.  It's part of life.  I don't care what you paid for basic F7 compared to the new FR955.  Did any of you consider when the F7 was in production we were in the middle of a pandemic?  Parts and labor were much more difficult to come by then they are now driving up the price.  You weren't cheated or duped.  The problem is you feel entitled and the reality is you're entitled to nothing.  Yesterday I put gas in my Jeep.  Today the same service station is 4 cents a gallon cheaper.  "I've been duped and cheated".  I'll never go back to that service station again".  "I would have waited a day.  They knew the price was going to drop".  Some of you sound like spoiled children.

    Yes, the new software features will come to the Fenix 7. We don't know when, it could be this week or 6 months from now. But they'll come.

    Personally if you're leaning towards the 7 Sapphire for its build quality, then absolutely that's what I'd recommend getting. It's a fantastic watch, and it's absolutely still what I would buy today if I were shopping for a new watch.
