Dear friends, I found a solution how to make sure that the rotation of the bottom pin does not decalibrate the compass. You will need a needle, superglue. Gently apply superglue to the base of the bottom pin with a needle. Thus, the pin will be fixed and will not move.I have been wearing the watch for a week now, the compass always works clearly. The problem was in the rotation of the bottom pin.Seal the pin with glue and forget about this problem forever.

Extreme solution.... yes, but it's not possible that on a €800 watch you have to glue the pins to make the compass work! it's ridiculous!!! Garmin.... 

I found that at some orientations of the pin, the compass calibration would fail 100% of the time, and at others it would always work. So, you'd have to make sure you glue it at the right position, and even then, the magnetic field could change over time.

I 3D Printed pins out of PLA because of this.

Yep, nonferrous pins seem like the only solution to me. Would you trust the plastic pins' strength the same as the metal ones? And, how do you get them in there, do you make them with springs in some way?

Mine seems to work just fine with standard pins. My compass has remained calibrated since I bought the watch in February.

Yeah, it's either that some models have ferrous pins, or that yours aren't magnetised yet, but it's clearly quite a widespread issue.

It’s ridiculous! I’ve been saying this since the launch of the instinct 2 (which I bought and sent back) it’s not only the fenix lineup, it has to be a design flaw that affects all fenix and instinct platform (probably even others) and Garmin will never accept that design flaw as it will cost them millions to repair customers.
