No roads in maps/activity (since FW8.18)

Since the 8.18 update I no longer have roads on both my Garmin map and open source one. Different terrains, buildings, water etc. are all still there though.

Somehow the roads showed up for a second when I was pushing buttons, but then dissapeared again. I already removed the maps, reinstalled them, rebooted the watch, nothing helps. After a reboot they show up for a second as well and then dissapear the moment you return to the screen. 

As the map is my most used feature, I'll go back to 7.35 until this is solved.

    Updated June 14th, 2022:

    The missing roads and trails issue is resolved with software version 8.37.

    - Garmin's TopoActive North America map.

    - No 3rd party maps.

    - All roads are visible. (Along with water, trails, parks ...)

    - No workaround needed.

    - "Yes", original Garmin TOPO Pro Czech v4

    - Yes, missing in TOPO Pro

    - Yes, roads are visible if I activate SkiView base map both with TOPO Pro map

    In FW 7.35 no workaround was needed.

    - Garmin's TopoActive Europe,

    - 3rd party - openmtb.org map,

    - TopoActive shows roads,

    - 3rd party map doesn't show roads/trails unless I activate TopoAcrive/Ski map as well,

    None of the buildings is shown (I can see them on the same map in BaseCamp), even if I get roads to show up. Perhaps other features are missing as well, but it's hard to tell. Changing map Detail setting doesn't seem to do a lot. It worked fine on the previous release build, and is broken on the current. No Beta was ever installed.

    - Yes, freemapSKtopo/freemapCZtopo based on OSM - https://mapa.garmin.sk/. They worked perfectly on 7.35

    - Only on custom map, TopoActive map is fine

    - No, but I downgraded manually to 7.35 and then upgraded to 8.14, last version where the maps are fine

    Well, after another try it finally works.

    I reinstalled the Skiview map through Garmin Express (it did not come preloaded on my watch - this is different then just changing the map theme to Ski, I had to add the map through Express as it wasn't available through the map manager on the watch).

    After that I enabled the Ski view map on all activities (along with the relevant Topo Map) and now I can see roads and trails again. I have to keep the Skiview map enabled in the activity (even though my area is not in it, which is really strange) because otherwise the problem returns.

    It is still a bug, but at least now it seems I can use the maps (mine are only Garmin maps, I don't know if this solves 3rd party map problem).

    TopoActive Europe 2021.20 (all regions) + Garmin Ski Map 2022.10 + CourseView Europe, Mddle East & Africa 6.40 + CourseView North and South America 6.80 + CourseView Pacific 5.90

    - Have you added a custom 3rd party map to your watch?

    Yes, "Speichenkarte NRWplus" (→ https://speichenkarte.de/Karten/Speiche_NRWplus220514.zip) which is an OSM based free map for cycling

    - Are roads missing from your TopoActive map, the custom map, or on both?

    Only from the custom map, and only in some tiles of it - unfortunately my home region (N51.56 E006.71) is also affected

    - Is there a workaround that works for you to see the roads on your maps?

    Yes: Former I have had switched off the custom map in all non cycling activities and on the other side switched the custom map on and all pre-installed maps off in all cycling activities. This worked fine in FW 7.xx, but in FW 8.xx no roads and other lines have been shown in the cycling activities. As a workaround I find out that switching the pre-installed maps to on also in the cycling profiles would make the custom map with roads and lines visible.

    Same issue, Topo pro v 4 Denmark.
