Set compass heading during activity?

Does anyone know if it's possible to set compass heading, on compass data screen, during an activity? If I open compass from the glance screen, I can do this by pressing start button and accessing the menu. But during the activity start button will just stop the activity. Is there a trick to this or is it just not supported?

Press and hold the middle button for menu > Navigation > Sight 'N Go

I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but it's effectively the same thing

Thanks. The irony of this is that the "heading bug" is visible on every screen but the compass

Just for reference if someone has the same problem. Since I don't really like the whole sight-and-go thingy, my workaround is that I've added a compass shortcut to the quick-access menu, and then during an activity, I can long-press the light button, quickly jump to compass and lock the heading there. I've also submitted feedback to Garmin to add the lock-heading option to the compass data screen (it already has the calibration option), but I don't have high hopes it will happen.
