I am not sure what the purpose of the stamina data screen and how it can be used for a serious training. Let me explain.
DC Rainmaker wrote about the Stamina screen as a sort of body battery while doing an activity. Initially when I tried using it I thought it made sense. But here is the issue. When used on consecutive days it always starts with the full 100%, with the same full estimated time, and with the same full estimated distance.
For example, at a start of a run it always displays 100%. The estimated distance (if I display that) is always 30.5 miles, and the estimated time is always 6 hours and 30 minutes. I'd say that is about right. I am certainly capable of that distance and time when I am fresh and fully recovered. In the last 3 weeks while testing Fenix 7X I did two mountainous 20 mile runs, taking nearly 5 hours each. Both times the stamina reflected the energy (distance and time) left reasonably well. However when I start another run next day I am back to the same 30.5 miles and 6:30h of stamina, even though I am fairly fatigued after a previous day and have an energy for 1-2 hours at best.
I think there should be some correlation of stamina with the body battery to make it more realistic, otherwise it is no more than a gimmick that displays some abstract potential based on my VO2max.
