Is there a way to get the pool distance down to 10 yards? I have a standard 15X30' pool and the least I can enter on the watch is 15 yards.

So I am as of Friday completely brand new to this smart/fitness watch scenario but this thing has really floored me with what all it can do. I have logged walks, bike rides and a swim on it. When trying to enter the pool length the shortest measurement I can put in is 15 yards. As I said above I only have a 30' long pool. While this is not the end of the world I do question the distance it is giving me after a 30 minute swim (1786 yards).

Am I missing something here? I did search and did not see this asked although it is completely possible that it has already.

Otherwise this thing (Fenix 7X SS) is out of this world for me. I am a regular watch guy and have been all my life, turned off by all the "Smart Watches" as if you have to charge them every day or so I am not interested.

Many thanks for the response Sir. I think the most important thing for me is my heart rate so I am not going to be too upset. I go by minutes as opposed to distance/laps anyway so this is not that big…

15 yds will be the smallest pool size you can set. You could try setting to 20 yds then adjust the distance when you've finished.

There's a whole heap of discussion about the inability to save for smaller pools in other threads for other watches. Basically comes down to how much harder it would be to measure the swim with only a few strokes between turns. Since most people would 'lose' about 5yds in the turns with the push off that only leaves a few swimming strokes before hitting the other end of the pool and turning again. And if you stop at each end, turn around, then resume swimming without a push off it's quite possible the length will not be recognised. One of the criteria used to determine a length is a good push off from the wall.

I just wanted to make sure I was not missing a simple adjustment (although I looked several times so I figured it was as you defined above).

I will say I have been missing out on a great watch and community. This watch is exceptional. I know there are bugs etc. but I had no idea as to the capabilities of this watch. It is probably one of my very favorite things I have ever purchased.

If heart rate is important then you might want to consider getting a chest strap. While WHR technology has improved in leaps and bounds over the years, you still can't beat a strap for accuracy, especially when swimming.
