Heart rate loss? Sensor stopping?

Anyone else seeing the heart rate sensor randomly stopping on the Fenix 7?

When running I use a chest strap so it’s not an issue, but during the day and commutes to & from work on the bike I’m seeing the sensor stop working.

I wear the watch pretty tight and I can go 24hrs, sometimes longer without issue, but then all of a sudden I’ll open Garmin Connect and not see my live heart rate. If I lift the watch away from my wrist I can see the sensor lights aren’t flashing. Then they begin to flash again and all will be fine for 24hrs, even longer sometimes.

same issue happened on my fenix 7, the issue disappeared after i restart the watch.

Mine stopped measuring sometime during the night. The sensor light was completely off. Had to turn on pulse ox widget to restart it

Only time I've had loss of HR data from the watch it turned out that the power ode was set to "jacket" mode. When I set it back to normal HR came back. This might not be at all connected with the problem you're having I don't know, but I definitely did not actively put the watch into jacket mode myself, so either I was sleepwalking and did it or there is some bug in which the mode can change unintentionally. Might be worth checking. HTH

Certainly sounds like that could be happening, I lost 3 hours of readings again this afternoon at work. There’s no way the watch wouldn’t have been touching my skin for that sort of length of time so it’s definitely just switching off the sensor.

Reads and then nothing. lift the watch off, sensors not working.. and then again.. start working and measuring.. and then 0 again.. not a nice way for an 800 eur new watch

I've just experienced random sensor fallout. Stopped 3-4 hour before I went to bed and came back on again in the morning when I woke up. HRV was unaffected! Sleep was missing Puls Ox and Respiration. Green leds are flashing. GPS working. Played 9 holes of Golf with perfect club length measurements. Stopped last night as well, 3:24 to wakeup. I am clueless of what to do.

Has anyone seen a fix for this? This is my second Fenix 7. Returned the first one thinking it was the watch. Now I think it’s a bug with the 7s. What a disappointment for the price.

I don’t think this is exclusive to the Fenix 7. I have had the 6 now for many years and never had this problem. Recently it has happened to me a few times. I’m expecting some sort of firmware bug and fix

Did you check your Battery Saver options? It is usually (by default) set to turn off the HR sensor, and if it then kicks in automatically at low battery state, it disables the HRM.
