Get non-continuous heart rate data

I'm wearing fenix 7 everyday with heart rate monitor on, but i noticed sometimes the heart rate is not detected even i wear the watch quite fit my wrist.

Also, checking from heart rate widget, the past 4 hours heart rate data is dis-continued. Anyone encountered same issue?

Hi seilogramp, yes, i'm wearing it correctly. my previous garmin watch never had this issue. I know optical heart rate sensor may inaccurate in some workout like HIIT or swimming but the data not supposed…

Yes sometimes on my Epix the data on the watch disappears but is there in Garmin Connect. It seems to come back later.

The Heart Rate Sensor on My Garmin Watch Is Not Accurate

For all day and activities just to verify you're wearing it correctly, see video below.

No issues with mine, but I keep it fairly snug, tighten it by 1 notch during activities. I only take it off before showering and rinse it with clean water daily.

Hi seilogramp, yes, i'm wearing it correctly. my previous garmin watch never had this issue. I know optical heart rate sensor may inaccurate in some workout like HIIT or swimming but the data not supposed to disappear like my graph above. this issue disappeared after i restart the watch, I'll keep tracking this issue and see if it appear again.

Then it’s a different issue to the one I had. Mine was where the data on the watch has gaps but didn’t in Garmin connect.

yuchen And Fozzee.1970I have experienced both issues with my Fenix 7. Here are some of my observations:

1. On data available in The Garmin connect App but not available in HR widget on your watch: it typically happens, when my watch restarts all of a sudden post completion of an activity. I dont know of any solutions to fix it. This is mostly a software bug that hopefully gets fixed soon

2. On non continuous recording of HR data (gaps in both connect app and HR widget): this was bothering me a lot. My fenix 7 would stop recording HR everytime I went to sleep or took a nap or was lying down. Hence inaccurate sleep data, stress, body battery and so on. I ve noticed that this very much depends on the position of your hand. If you have ur hands in unusual positions (lying face down) - it did not seem to record. When i shift my hand to a regular position, it would immediately start recording.

one workaround that sort of temporarily worked for me: enable the all day pulse ox and then there were no gaps in HR tracking (i know, its super weird that all day pulse ox fixed Gaps in HR tracking). Alas, sadly, the workaround lasted only for 3 days. Now I m starting to see gaps again.
