Smart Trainer Power Meter or Pedal Power Meter?

Not sure which Power Meter to use with the fenix 7X when doing an indoor structured worked where the fenix 7X is controlling the resistance of the Smart Trainer?

Setup:

Wahoo Kickr Snap Smart Trainer

Assioma Power Meter pedals

fenix 7X

fenix 7X is paired with the Smart Trainer as an FC-E controlled trainer.

fenix 7X can also see the Smart Trainers Power Meter as a separate sensor and can connect to it.

Assioma pedal power meter is also paired.

So far I have been doing the workouts just with the Smart Trainer and the Assioma Power Meter pedals.

But how does the fenix 7X know the true power the Smart Trainer is being set to?

Is it displaying readings from the Smart Trainer or the Power Pedals?

I am wondering if I should actually disconnect the Assioma and be connected to the Smart Trainers Power Meter directly as a separate sensor for accurate control and measurement?

I would configure the trainer to use the pedals for measuring the power if you trust them. This way you always have the same values, inside or outside. A lot trainer can "sync" with a power meter, also the kickr i think:

Than i would disable the pedals if you are doing a indoor workout and use the trainer (which uses the pedals again)

Yes, I actually did start using the Kickr Snap Control w/ANT+ Power Meter feature, but I wasn't sure if it was the preferred method.

Just as a follow up and to maybe unnecessarily complicate things, I just purchased a Garmin Edge 830.

So I would like to always record the bike indoor and outdoor session with the 7X, but then I am thinking to now control the kickr snap with the Edge 830:

Indoor

7X -> Assioma power pedals

830 -> Kickr snap with power meter matching option enabled to Assioma

Outdoor

7X -> Assioma power pedals

830 -> How should I get power readings on here?

Why changing something? The Kickr uses the pedals for measuring power. Indoor choose the trainer (which useses the pedals) and outdoors use the pedals, because of lacking alternative. No matter the device recording the ride.

Why changing the power meter and therefore the values, which maybe aren´t 100% comparable than (not every power meter measures exactly the same)? Just use one if possible for consistent data whatever you are doing. This mainly is the reason the company design such a "power link feature" for their trainers. So you always get the same power reading, indoor and outdoor.

Just to confirm, after enabling power matching in the wahoo app, does it only work if you use wahoo’s own app to control the kickr, or will it still work if you use a different head unit to control the kicker such as a Garmin Edge 830 ?
